When people talk about Neo Geo being great for Arcade ports, Mark of the Wolves is one of the games they talk about. It’s the type of sprite art that still very much holds up today. It was a 2D fighter from that peak time of 2D spritework. Mark of the Wolves is technically the 8th game in the Fatal Fury series, but is one of the most well known and what people think of when they think classic Fatal Fury. First ported to Neo Geo and then Dreamcast, Mark of the Wolves pushed the wall of what was possible in arcade to home fighting game conversions. Garou Mark of the Wolves, or Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves as the Dreamcast version was known, was a pretty landmark title for SNK when it originally released in 1999.
